Testimonials

Five gold stars arranged in a horizontal line.

“Adam has been very helpful to me. I went to him for help with panic attacks, and he helped me overcome them. What he said made sense from the start. It was hard for me to describe what I was going through w other people, but he knew what I was going through and could relate, which made me feel comfortable. Most of my panic attacks have stopped. I have a lot more to go, but I know what I have to do now! I definitely recommend him!”

“I've been dealing with agoraphobia and panic disorder for 6 years with my past therapist and had some ups and DOWN downs. I never beat it. I felt trapt by it and thought id never see the end of it. I was pretty much at my lowest when my wife found AJB and it changed my life. It took around 3 weeks with Adam before I felt "free" again and able to enjoy life with my kids and wife again. I really wish I found AJB sooner. They saved my life.”

Five gold stars in a row.

“I have seen several therapists before Adam, and I was very pleased with our first session. He is an anxiety specialist so he was extremely knowledgeable about panic attacks and he proposed many different strategies that we will use in the future in order to overcome them. He did not give generic advice like the other therapists I have seen and he seemed to really care. I am looking forward to working with him to overcome the issues that I have been struggling with for a long time now.”

Treatment

Grounded in Research
At A.J.B. Counseling & Psychotherapy, our treatment for panic disorder and agoraphobia is anchored in evidence-based practices. As the principal strategist, I incorporate the latest research from U.S. experts, ensuring our methods are scientifically validated.

Team Collaboration
While I am at the forefront of treatment planning, our approach is a collaborative endeavor. Our team, comprising skilled professionals, works under my direction to implement these strategies. Each member plays a crucial role, and you can trust in their expertise as I guide them in delivering personalized care.

Innovation
My commitment to your well-being extends beyond traditional models. I integrate advanced techniques with a deep understanding of panic, derived from both professional and personal experiences. This allows me to develop innovative and cutting-edge approaches for better outcomes, ensuring a comprehensive treatment experience.

Rapid Improvement
Embracing our method promises quick results: freedom from panic, as evidenced by solid research. Consider two examples: In Figure 1, initial progress is gradual due to the essential educational component of the therapy, but from session 5, panic significantly reduces, dropping to zero in 1-2 months. Figure 2 shows a similar pattern in a separate study, with notable symptom reduction and enhanced coping skills over time. These examples demonstrate that with a thorough understanding and proper application, significant improvement is achievable. Your path to overcoming panic can mirror these successful cases.

Line graph showing the mean number of panic attacks per week over 37 weeks. The graph is divided into three phases: baseline (weeks 1-4), treatment (weeks 5-16), and follow-up (weeks 17-37). During baseline, panic attacks are around 20 per week. During treatment, panic attacks decrease steadily from about 12 to 2 per week. In follow-up, the number of panic attacks remains low and stable.

Four line graphs showing how different psychological symptoms change over 10 weeks: panic disorder severity and anxiety sensitivity decrease during AC and AC+EXP phases; agoraphobic cognitions and mindfulness increase over time.

Figure 2 illustrates a marked decrease in symptoms of agoraphobia, panic disorder, and anxiety in each patient, accompanied by a notable rise in mindfulness levels. This improvement is attributed to the combined application of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and exposure techniques.
