Adam J. Biec, LMHC, Founder & CEO

Graduate of Columbia University with a degree in Mental Health Counseling, I am a dedicated Anxiety Specialist and Family/Couples Counselor with a passion for patient-centric care. I draw on a diverse toolkit - from surrender and acceptance techniques, environmental and interoceptive exposure therapies, to CBT and Paradoxical Intent interventions. These varied strategies help my patients conquer their panic and anxiety.

Since 2015, I’ve built a carefully selected team of clinicians whose training and clinical depth align with a high standard of care. Each therapist contributes a distinct area of expertise, allowing our practice to offer comprehensive, nuanced support for clients facing anxiety, relationship challenges, or complex emotional demands. We focus on high-fidelity clinical work that produces clarity, regulation, and sustained forward movement.

Marta Morawska, Head of Cognitive Systems Lab

I work at the intersection of cognitive science, behavioral architectures, and emerging intelligent technologies, focusing on how attention, perception, pattern formation, and meaning-making reorganize in increasingly mediated environments. Previously a doctoral researcher across two concurrent PhD programs in interdisciplinary psychology/social sciences and economics/business, and co-founder of a clinical practice operating in the Arctic Circle.

I apply evidence-based therapy informed by cognitive science to help clients make better decisions, strengthen psychological flexibility, and sustain high-performance functioning.

As Head of the Cognitive Systems Lab, I lead the clinic’s conceptual development, examining how cognition evolves in fast-changing informational ecosystems. My aim is to advance frameworks that support more adaptive, resilient pathways for human development.

I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and I have experience and training in counseling individuals with depression, anxiety, grief, intimate relationships, sexual health, and more. I believe in helping clients discover their inner strengths so they can live happier, healthier, and more fulfilling lives. In sessions, I strive to provide a positive, safe space while building strong, professional relationships with my clients.

In my role as Lead Supervising Clinician, I also oversee the training and supervision of our clinical team. This includes equipping staff with evidence-based strategies for treating panic and agoraphobia, as well as offering guidance on best practices in psychotherapy. By fostering a collaborative learning environment, I ensure that both our clients and our clinicians feel supported and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.

Chris Felix, LP-MHC

A graduate of New York University with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling & Wellness, I bring a disciplined, client-focused approach to clinical work. I emphasize the individuality of each person and work to create a steady, environment where clients can examine patterns, clarify needs, and make deliberate psychological shifts. My work draws on evidence-based modalities - including motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based interventions, and the calibrated use of humor - to support meaningful and sustainable change.

Collaboration is central to my practice. I build therapeutic relationships that recognize each client’s distinct perspective while encouraging a more coherent and integrated understanding of their internal experience. My training at NYU provided a strong grounding in diverse clinical frameworks, allowing me to work effectively with clients across a wide range of emotional, relational, and developmental challenges.

Rosemarie Montague, LMHC

I began my counseling career in the late 1980’s, starting in Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx, as a counselor for the homeless population and obtained my Master’s in Guidance and Counseling from Hunter College. While working as a counselor, I attended The Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences and have been a licensed massage therapist for nearly 30 years, certified in Swedish Massage and Traditional Five Element Shiatsu. I had a private practice in Westhampton Beach for 16 years treating anxiety, depression, physical and mental trauma, and various disease conditions with medical massage and energy work, while also offering Ayurvedic nutritional counseling, guided meditation, and yoga. I then obtained an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from Buffalo University and am a fully licensed therapist in the state of New York, combining therapies that holistically treat mind, body, and spirit. For over two years at AJB Counseling and Psychotherapy, I have treated individuals, couples, and groups and have specialized in successfully treating panic disorder, agoraphobia, various anxiety conditions, depression, grief, personality and eating disorders. I offer a safe space for you to explore your uniqueness, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to empower you to heal and move towards the life you are seeking.

Navigating life’s challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming, making it essential to seek support and effective solutions through therapy. I offer both Christian-based and traditional therapeutic interventions, tailoring my approach to best meet each client’s unique needs. My style is collaborative and client-centered, with active listening at the core of my sessions. I believe that every individual has the inner strength needed to achieve their goals, and with the right support, meaningful growth is possible.

As your therapist, I will serve as a guide in this process, helping you develop effective strategies to reach your personal and emotional goals. I earned my MSEd in School Counseling from Hunter College, NY, and an Advanced Certificate in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo, NY. I have experience working with clients across diverse age groups and understand the profound impact that mental health and well-being have on all aspects of life.

Nathaniel Terpening, LP-MHC, EMDR

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my experience in Alaska, where I learned the importance of meeting people where they are. After graduating from Alaska Pacific University in 2012, I dedicated my career to serving diverse and often underserved populations, including those in the homeless community, families in crisis, and individuals navigating the criminal justice system and forensic psychology.

This work has strengthened my commitment to providing thoughtful, trauma-informed care grounded in clinical precision. I draw on a broad range of evidence-based modalities, including DBT, CBT, and EMDR, integrating each approach as clinically indicated to support deeper processing and more stable functioning. I also bring extensive experience in mindfulness and meditation, using these practices to enhance regulation, attentional capacity, and overall therapeutic effectiveness.

I see therapy as a place where science and humanity meet. My graduate training at the University of North Carolina Greensboro gave me a strong foundation in the research behind how people grow and heal, but what matters most is how that knowledge comes alive in the room with you.

In our sessions, I draw on approaches like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Choice Theory, but I never forget that you’re more than a diagnosis or a set of symptoms. You’re a whole person, with a story that deserves to be understood on its own terms. My job is to help you make sense of that story, to give you tools that actually work in daily life, and to walk alongside you as you take steps toward the life you want.

I’m especially passionate about supporting people in the LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent communities, as well as those navigating Borderline Personality Disorder, trauma, or intense emotions. These are areas where I’ve seen how the right mix of compassion and evidence-based strategies can truly change lives.

David Harris, LP-MHC, Men’s Therapy

My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by years spent in the corporate world, where I saw firsthand how high responsibility, constant pressure, and workplace culture can quietly wear people down. That experience gives me a practical understanding of what many men are carrying, including performance expectations, leadership strain, and the challenge of staying steady when everything depends on you.

This background informs a structured, collaborative approach to therapy that is grounded in clinical skill and focused on real-life change. I work primarily with men and often focus on stress and burnout, anxiety, and relationship strain, including patterns like shutdown, irritability, and conflict cycles that repeat. My goal is to help you lower internal pressure, build steadiness you can maintain, and show up with more clarity and control at home and at work.
